Every week in Los Angeles there are tons of great things to do (even before the weekend gets started) that we think you ought to have on your radar. With that in mind, we put together a list every Monday morning to keep you in the know about what’s happening in the city you love (or maybe just like).
This week, from Monday, Oct. 31 to Friday, Nov. 4, features the WeHo Halloween Carnaval, Dia de los Muertos celebrations, a free classic movie at Union Station, All Space Considered, Liquid Intelligence, an after-hours film screening at The Getty Center, and LOTS more.

Monday October 31st, 2016
1. Looking to spend Halloween in a room full of Pee-Wee Hermans? MiniBar Hollywood has you covered with “A Night of 100 Pee-Wee’s”.
2. The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval will take over several blocks of the city with crowds expected to reach 500K (woah!) the event brings out the loud, proud, and fabulous decked out in their very best Halloween attire. FREE

Back for its 7th year, Wicked Lit is a spooky immersive theatre experience that takes classic horror literature and turns them into plays at the Mountain View Mausoleum & Cemetery this Monday and Thursday through Sunday. 10. CreepLA promises a bigger and scarier time where the lines of reality and performance art are blurred into your worst nightmare.
11. The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor is darker, more shocking, and even more terrifying than ever. A new spirit named the Iron Master will join a group of sinister spirits and hundreds of their horrific henchmen ready to scare guests in the five different mazes on the ship, along with a Paintball Shooting Gallery, a 4-D horror show, freak shows and more. 12. If the idea of hopping on a bandwagon that travels through the darkness of Griffith Park while monsters hide in the shadows to scare you sounds like fun, than the L.A. Haunted Hayride is the place to be. Happening all weekend!
13. Runway Playa Vista presents Music Mondays a free weekly concert and music series. This week will be a spooky-fun evening for kids of all ages! The night will feature a canine costume contest, DJ tunes, trick or treating and dancing in the street. FREE
14. Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre hosts Urban Death Tour of Terror a immersive haunted house experience every Friday and Saturday from Oct. 7 – Nov. 5. Guests walk through a maze surrounded by monsters and arrive in the theater for a 20-minute performance before reentering the maze, this time with new monsters lurking at every turn.
15. LACMA’s Film department presents Fuel for Nightmares, a curated film series based on Guillermo del Toro’s favorite films. This week The Bride of Frankenstein on Monday and Hellboy on Friday will be screened.
16. The House on Haunted Hill has been a community tradition for 16 years. Free to enter, the haunted house works off an original script, score and story. All donations are donated to non-profit charities at the end of the Haunting Season. Happening Oct. 28-31. FREE
17. Enjoy a free, family-friendly evening at Old Pasadena Halloween Celebration, Folks can treating at over 100 businesses and a screening of Gremlins. FREE
18. The LA Zoo’s annual Halloween month long celebration Boo At The Zoo is back with spooky attractions for kids and adults.

19. The Museum of Broken Relationships will present a unique series of after-hours talks all designed to navigate the good the bad and the ugly of romantic relationships. This week they will host a conversation with Alexandra Tweten, Founder of “Bye Felipe.”
20. Darren Criss stars in Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. John Cameron Mitchells groundbreaking rock musical is revived by Criss, Tony Award Winner Lena Hall and Tony Award wining Director Michael Mayer. 26. Enjoy complementary classes, seminars and tastings of weekly featured spirits every Wednesday during Liquid Intelligence at The Mixing Room. This weeks theme is “Sweet Takes a Back Seat: Discovering Savory Flavors” FREE
27. 24th Street Theatre’s free annual ‘Dia de los Muertos’ festival and block party. FREE
28. The NASA’s Pavilion sound experience is now of view at The Huntington Library. A “soundscape” experience that represents the movement of the International Space Station and 19 Earth Science satellites the shell like sculpture emits sounds each interpreting one of the satellites’ missions. Open to the public till Feb. 27, 2017.
29. The 43rd annual Self Help Graphics & Art’s 43rd Annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration. FREE

38. There’s a free classic Movie Screening Series at Union Station this Friday they will screen the noir classic Criss Cross. FREE
39. The Griffith Observatory hosts a monthly forum where some of the most amazing phenomena in the known universe are explained and discussed. It’s called All Space Considered and it takes place on the first Friday of every month. FREE
40. On Fridays Royce’s Arcade Warehouse hosts ‘Threeplay Fridays’ from 4 to 7 p.m. For $3 you get three hours of unlimited play of games such as Donkey Kong, Street Fighter 2, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga and many more.
41. The Getty will put on a special after hour screening of acclaimed British artist and filmmaker Derek Jarman’s film Blue. Screened outdoors on the Getty’s Garden Terrace the film features a single shot of the color blue with voice-overs by Jarman and actors Tilda Swinton, Nigel Terry, and John Quentin. FREE
